That absent-minded moment became a legend. Customers laughed, calling the owner "Tai Er" — a Chinese term for someone charmingly scatterbrained. He embraced it, and a brand was born.
A small street restaurant that the whole city came to find.
Tai Er started as a tiny spot in Guangzhou in 2015, with no sign, no frills — just obsessively good Suancai & Fish. Word spread faster than the owner could handle.
Today, Tai Er operates hundreds of locations across China, Hong Kong, Southeast Asia, and North America. The name changed. The focus never did.
